Ray A Osborne Jr.

Ray (Sonny) Osborne, Jr., age 94, born in Marion, Virginia departed this life on December 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kate Woody Osborne and Ray A. Osborne, his son; Robert Paul Osborne, sisters; Jewell Osborne and Virginia Norman; brothers, John Osborne and Jack Osborne. He is survived by his wife, Frances Osborne; son, David Osborne (Luanne Osborne); grandchildren, Casey Osborne and Patrick Osborne; three great grandchildren, Cadence Osborne, Parker Osborne and Paelynn Osborne; two sisters, Joy Garrett from Archdale, NC and Nancy Foster from Bassett, VA. Ray was a World War II veteran in the 36th Texas Division, and in the European Theatre. Ray retired from the Bassett Post Office in December 1984. He attended school at Bassett High. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends and taking care of his family. Memorials gifts may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice. The visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, Virginia, one hour prior to service. The service will be at noon on Saturday with burial to follow at Mount Herman Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Pastor Noel Naff officiating.
