Obituary of Joann M. Mueller
Mueller, Joann Margaret Duhig, of Delaware Street in Indianapolis, 87, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018. Joann was born to John Marcus Duhig and Margaret Effie Finlayson on January 10, 1931 in Washington, D.C. Joann married Walter H. Mueller April 11, 1953. He preceded her in death March 22, 2002. They have 2 children Eric C. Mueller of Indianapolis and Amy B Mueller (Glen Paulsen) of West Lafayette and one grandchild Laura M. (Paulsen) Martin (Jacob) of Columbus, IN. In addition to her children and grandchild she is survived by sisters Ellen Myers (James) of Queenstown, MD and Christine Gugger (James) of Lake Park, FL; sister-in-law Alfreada Wegenke of Montello, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Joann graduated from McKinley High School in D.C. and worked in the accounting department of NBC News in D.C. After moving to Indianapolis she attended Purdue at 38th Street (now IUPUI) and received a BS in mathematics in 1972. Joann received her master’s degree from Indiana University in education. She taught math for 26 years first in Indianapolis Public Schools then in Perry-Meridian Schools including Southport Middle and Keystone Middle. Joann was a talented Master Gardener and an avid reader. She was generous and kind and volunteered her time freely. She was a member of Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus Indiana (UUCCI). Memorial visitation will be held 12-2 Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop 11 Rd. Indianapolis, IN.
