James Edward Champion

James Edward “Jim” Champion, age 66, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jim was born on November 11, 1952 in Angola, Indiana to Leon A. and Dorothy P. (Northam) Champion, they preceded him in death.
Jim graduated from Fremont High School in 1971. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and enjoyed time with family and friends.
He had worked for many years at American Axle in Litchfield, Michigan, and formerly worked for Metaldyne in Fremont, Indiana, and Brammall in Angola, Indiana.
Survivors include his companion of twenty three years, Dawn Etheridge of Fremont, Indiana, and her children, Justin Etheridge of Fremont, Indiana, and Jayme Etheridge of Angola, Indiana, daughters, Amy J. (Jason) Vanderpool of Montgomery, Michigan, and Amber (Mike) Clark of Angola, Indiana, grandchildren, Tyler, Brittany, Quentin, Hannah, Kassius, Zayla, Jalen, Xavier, Travis, Nathan, Rylan, Aliveah, Carolyn, and Dex, a great-grand-daughter, Julia, and his brothers and sisters, Steve (Earlene) Champion of Fremont, Indiana, Kathy Craun of Fremont, Indiana, Susie (Tom) Organ of Modesto, California, Gary Champion of Fremont, Indiana, and Kelly (Mike) Schorey of Fremont, Indiana.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Champion and George Champion, and a brother-in-law, Mike Craun.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.
According to his wishes cremation will take place following the visitation and burial will be at a later time.
