Rickie Lee Waller, 61 years of age died Monday January 7, 2019. He was born February 21, 1957 in Covington, Kentucky and the son of Rasalee and Wanda (Finnell) Waller. Rickie attended Boone County High School and received a basketball scholarship to Kilgore Junior College in Kilgore, Texas. He also received a scholarship to Missouri Southern State University located in Joplin, MO. This propelled him into his professional basketball career abroad. He was united in marriage to his loving wife of 32 years, Sandra (Chunn) Waller, on August 8, 1986 and he faithfully served at Jones Memorial A.M.E. Zion until his passing.
Survivors include his faithful and devoted wife Sandra Waller, his son Richard Waller (Karfi), his daughters Brandi Waller (Christopher), Trissa Basey, and Nicole Comer, a loving sister Jacqueline Crittenden (Roderick), a niece Kennedy Crittenden. Rickie also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Michael Chunn (Nicole),and sister-in-laws Janine Wells (Michael), Sherlene Flores (Jose’), Jerelene Ransom, and Linda Ransom. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be Monday January 14, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and after 9:00 am Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Jones Memorial AME Zion Church, 258 Ealy Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Homegoing Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at his church with Reverend Yolanda Michelle Washington Officiating. Burial will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Kraft Funeral Service was entrusted with arrangements.
