Obituary of Thomas Boyd Crosley, SR.
Tom’s baby dedication was held, along with his future wife Kay at Second Friends Church in Indianapolis, Indiana at Christmas time in 1942. They were married in that church on June 23, 1962, they have two children, Shantelle Ford and Thomas (Tina) Crosley, Jr. They have 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Monty (Linda) Pickett, Rod (Diane) Pickett, his sister, Kathleen (Tom) Everhart. He also has a large number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He worked for 30 years at Merchants National Bank & Trust Co. and was a Vice President. He also worked briefly for a bank that purchased Merchants. That ban no longer exists. For several years he purchased and rehabbed houses and created a group of rental homes and apartments. Later when his wife became ill he stayed home and cared for her. For many years he served as a volunteer for an exchange student program and as a result of this work his family hosted 25 exchange students for a one year term and about 500 for short periods from one day to several months. Some of these relationships have lasted over 30 years and he has exchange sons and daughters, spouses, and exchange grandchildren in many parts of the world. He also served on the Board of Directors of Reach for Youth, was an officer in the Masonic Lodge, and advisor and chapter Dad for the Order of DeMolay and was active with his wife as an officer in the Order of Easter Star.
