Obituary of Lambert Boyd "Bill" Woolridge
WOOLRIDGE, Lambert Boyd "Bill", 93, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on January 26, 2019. He is survived by three children, Joyce, Bill and Richie; three stepchildren, Doug, Bobby and Diane; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Bill was a naval veteran of WWII, participating in the D-Day invasion. An eager patriot, Bill's father had to sign a parental consent form for him to enlist in 1942, as he was only 16 years of age; he was heard to remark later that he served with men younger than he. After his discharge in 1946, Bill began a successful career as an electrician with the IBEW, Local 666, Richmond, Virginia. He was one of the first Commissioners of Tuckahoe Little League. A memorial gathering will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, February 1, at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229.
