Mae Ailene McCaffry

Mae Ailene (Brantley) McCaffry, 89, of Evansville, passed way Tuesday, March 19, 2019. She was born November 30, 1929 in Hammond, IN to the late Robert and Dora (Brasher) Devers. She was a member of North Park Baptist Church for 50 years. Besides God and church, her greatest love was for her family and decorating. Luckily for Ailene and Mac, they found each other after the loss of their first loves. Ailene loved her extended family. The family would like to thank the staff at Linda White Hospice House and her nieces, Kathy Tuley and Kelli Dempsey for their loving care. Ailene was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert C. Brantley; sisters, Juanita Orth, Tonya Devers and Joyce Erwin, and brother, William Devers. She is survived by husband, Arthur “Mac” McCaffry; daughters, Debby English and Linda Will (Stephen); grandchildren, Shelley Mayer (Jon), Andrew Powers, John Sergesketter (Kim), Elizabeth Silke (Scott), Alexander English and Natalie Young (Joe); great-grandchildren, Tyce and Colt Powers, Kie Silke, Morgan Silke, Lilly and Landon Young, and expected, Thorin Sergesketter; brother, Bob “Bobby” Devers (Maribel); sister, Donna Rose Devers; nieces, Kathy Tuley (Mark), Kelli Dempsey (Buck) and Traci Devers, and nephews, Jimmy Devers, Greg Maxberry (Julie), Mike Pemberton (Marlie), Jeff Devers, Joey Devers (Angie), Chris Teel (Jessica) and Gary Orth. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Rev. Art Christmas and Rev. Don Moore, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at the funeral home.
