Obituary of Ann "Pat" Patricia Cornelia
Ann Patricia Cornelia “Pat” of Indianapolis, Indiana, age 85, passed away after a long illness on March 26, 2019 in Mt. Juliet, TN surrounded by her loving family. The oldest of 6 siblings, Pat was born in New York City, on January 21, 1934 and was raised in the Bronx and on Staten Island, New York before moving to Indianapolis in 1970. She then moved to Mt Juliet, TN in July 2018 to live close to her daughter. Pat attended St. Peter’s High School for Girls on Staten Island, New York, and Katharine Gibbs School in New York City, where she graduated as a Legal Secretary. She also attended Staten Island Community College and IUPUI. She married Robert E. Cornelia Jr. (died on November 7, 2017) in 1954, and although they later parted ways, they remained very close for the rest of their lives through their 3 children. Pat made Indianapolis her home for 48 years. She was a faithful member of St. Pius X Parish and was an active member (soprano) of its choir. Pat had a very successful career selling real-estate for The F.C. Tucker Co. for 35 years. She loved to read, swim, garden, play tennis, travel and was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas B. Sr. and Ann (Smith) Hurley; sister, Joan A. Hurley of New York City; brother, Thomas (Gigi) Hurley Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brother-in-law, Edward J. (Monica) Cornelia of Rye Beach, NH; and sister-in-law, Diane Hurley of Conroe, TX. Pat is survived by her children, Robert E. (WJ Miller) Cornelia III of San Diego, CA, Joseph E. (Barbara) Cornelia of West Chester, OH and Joan E. (Ray) Wallace (Cornelia) of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Vaughn R. Cornelia of Nashville, TN, Ryan J. Cornelia of West Chester, OH and Payton Wallace of Indianapolis, IN; great-granddaughter, Sophia Ann Cornelia of TN; sister, Maureen Hurley of Mt. Juliet, TN; brothers, Gerard (Maggie) of Huntington, NY and Joseph Hurley of Conroe, TX; cousin, Dr. Peter Di Napoli of Palm Harbor, FL; god-daughters, Elizabeth (Joe) Cornelia-Francis of Truro, MA and Meredith Ann Hurley of Greenlawn, NY; sister-in-law, Monica Cornelia of Rye Beach, NH; and a whole host of other nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and colleagues. A visitation will take place on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 4-8pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st St, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 11am at St. Pius X Parish, 7200 Sarto Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
