Obituary of Jan Michael Yarosz
Jan Michael Yarosz, 73, of Kokomo, passed away at 9:48 PM Friday, March 29, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital-Kokomo. Born May 23, 1945 in Rochester, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Jean (Lesniak) Yarosz and the late Ted Yarosz. On August 17, 1968, he married Patricia Anne Glass in Monaca, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran who served in the United States Army. He was a 1963 graduate of Monaca High School in Pennsylvania and a 1967 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1981. He was employed at Haynes International for 32 years, retiring in January 2019. He served on the board at Haynes Community Federal Credit Union for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He enjoyed hiking at Acadia National Park in Maine and visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He loved spending time with his family, and he especially enjoyed his ten grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years Patty Yarosz; two sons Mark (Jill) Yarosz of Valparaiso, Indiana and Matthew (Yenniffer) Yarosz of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter Megan (Joel) Wahlman of Butlerville, Indiana; his mother Jean Yarosz of St. Paul, Minnesota; two brothers Larry (Sherry) Yarosz of Kokomo and Robert (Kelly) Yarosz of Inverness, Illinois; one sister Judy (Ralph) Brown of St. Paul, Minnesota. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; Elizabeth, Eli, Zachary, Veronica, Ryan, Lauren, Luke, Kaitlyn, Michelle and Nash; and several nieces and nephews. Jan was preceded in death by his father and one brother Thaddeus. A funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1204 N. Armstrong Street, Kokomo with Father Brian Dudzinski celebrating. A committal service will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo; also from 1-2 PM Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
