Alusses James “Jimmy” Davis, 87, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at his residence.
Born June 5, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late James Washington Davis and Rosa Compton Davis. He was also preceded in death by five sisters and eight brothers. Mr. Davis was retired from Limitorque Corporation and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Davis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mr. Davis is survived by two sons, James Ellis Davis of Lynchburg and Kevin Leon Davis and wife Sonya of Forest and two grandson, Kevin Davis and fiancée Ashley Bubb and Kyle Davis.
Mr. Davis was a loving and devoted father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Chris Malone officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends, at the church, for one hour prior to the service, beginning at noon.
