Russell Paul Love

Russell Paul Love, 86, of Kokomo passed away at 2:34 AM Tuesday May 7, 2019 at Wellbrooke of Westfield. Born April 14, 1933 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Jacob Love and Nora E. (Ryan) Love. On April 5, 1953, he married Joy L. Cochran, and she preceded him in death on November 1. 2000. Then on August 29, 2009, he married Constance Smith, and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant with over 22 years of service. He then was employed as a biomedical engineer at St. Joseph Hospital for 20 years before retiring from there. He enjoyed old country singing and was in the group "Spirits of Truth". He also enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing.. Survivors include his wife Constance Love of Kokomo; two daughters Donna Kay (James) Purvis of San Antonio, TX and Debra (William) Glaspie of CA; four half-brothers Charles Love, Jerry Love, and Gerald Love, all of Kokomo, and George Love of Jerome, IN. There are also seven grandchildren John, Angela, Shane, Misty, Tarey, Sharon and Richard; sixteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and one on the way. There are also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joy Love; his parents, two sons Richard Love and Ronald Love; five brothers, five sisters, and one half-sister. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Pastor Jason Double will officiate. Burial with military rites by the United States Air Force and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at crown Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday; also from Noon to 1:00 PM Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to www.mealsforvets.org.
