Obituary of W. Joe Worster

W. Joe Worster, 72 of Huntington passed away at 8:48 am on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital. Joe was a 1964 graduate of East Union High School. He served his country in the United States Navy. Joe retired from DANA Corp after 30 years of service. After his retirement he worked several jobs including Clounie Landscaping HNHS and farming. He enjoyed camping and his fellowship with friends. Joe was born on June 10, 1946 in Bluffton, Indiana, the son of Garl and Hope (Smith) Worster. He was united in marriage to Nancy K. Haney on April 23, 1966 in Markle. Nancy preceded him in death on February 8, 2018. Survivors include a daughter: Staci (Doug) Mathias of Markle; two sisters: Vicki (John) King of Cape Fair, MS; Patty Burnworth of Huntington; two brothers: Curtis (Earlynn) Worster of Markle and Larry (Pam) Worster of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Max Worster. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Gerald O. Moreland officiating. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery in Huntington County. Memorial donations can be made out to American Lung Association-COPD Research, Visiting Nurse and Hospice or Habitat for Humanity all in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
