John Robert Hauser Jr.

John Robert Hauser Jr., age 74, of Fairfax, Virginia passed away on Monday June 10, 2019. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 53 years and their three children Jeannette, John and Jacqueline, their spouses and 16 grandchildren and one great grandson. John was born June 15, 1944 to John and Hannah Hauser. He was the oldest of five siblings, survived by Dan, Kevin, Bill, and Joanne Zook. After graduation from Boston College in 1966 he accepted a commission in the United States Army, retiring in 1986 at the rank of Lt. Colonel. His military career as an army logisitics and transportation officer and comptroller saw duty in Vietnam, Korea, Europe and the Pentagon. His education included masters degrees from the Canadian Forces Staff College and the University of Tennessee. Significant military awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Ranger Tab, and the Army General Staff Identification Badge. His other interests include; family, golf, fishing, biking and running a financial planning firm. A visitation for John will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Demaine Funeral Home,10565 MAIN ST, FAIRFAX, VA 22030. A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6720 Union Mill Rd, Clifton, VA 20124. A reception will follow the Mass on Saturday at 5504 Ashton Oaks Ct., Fairfax.
