Phillip Edwin Slusser

Phillip Edwin Slusser, 87, of Nashville died Thursday, June 27, 2019 in his home. He was born November 11, 1931 in Roseburg, Indiana to Clarence Slusser and Charlotte Burnside Slusser. He was retired from the Physical Plant of Indiana University. On October 22, 1955 Phillip married the former Rosemary Hayes in Marion, Indiana and she survives.
Other survivors include; four daughters, Lisa Slusser (Eric) Burkhardt, Kathy Slusser (Jeffery) Jones, Pamela Slusser (Rick) Baumgartner and Mary Elizabeth Slusser Tapp; two sisters, Sharon Slusser (Hubert) Whitt and Cindy Slusser (Larry) Schlicter; two brothers, Steve (Rose) Slusser and Gregory (Diana) Slusser; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Slusser Buroker; and a brother, John Slusser.
Phillip graduated from Swazee High School in 1949; he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951 and served aboard the USS Laws DD-558 during the Korean War; attended Earlham College; had worked at RCA in Marion; and was a member of the Columbus and Greenwood Model A Car Clubs, the Brown County Lions Club and the Brown County Woodworkers Club.
There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 3:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville, with Pastor Verne Sindlinger officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 1:00 – 3:00 PM also in the funeral home.
