James Thomas Bell

James Thomas Bell, age 69 of Bassett, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC. He was born on May 22, 1950 in Henry County, VA. He was a son of James Edward Bell and Cassie Franklin Bell. He was employed by West Rock as a Line Leader. He was a member of Fairway Baptist Church. He loved his family and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Panthers. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Dora Smith. He is survived by two daughters; Susan Carol Bell, Victoria Ellen Bell; one son, James Thomas Bell, Jr. (Megan); three sisters, Doris Martin (Paul), Thelma Gatewood (Bobby) , and Margaret Dillon; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to his family, he is survived by his fiancée, Sherry Carroll and her children, Hollie Martin, Brandon Carroll, Jesse Carroll, and three grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Fairway Baptist Church with Pastor Kirk Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd, VA. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
