Goldie Ann Grandy

IN THE CARE OF
Teague Funeral Service
Goldie Ann Grandy died peacefully in her home on July 7, 2019.
She was born February 15, 1931 in Loveland, CO to the late Everett and Ida Lee. She is survived by Saundra Lee of Granby, CT; Neal Grandy or Charlottesville, VA; Nancy McKinnon (son-in-law Mark) of Richmond, VA; Richard Grandy (daughter-in-law Linda) of Manassas, VA; Annette Jackson (son-in-law Bruce) of Atlanta, GA; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Gail Gentry. Goldie retired in August of 1996 after many years of service as an Administrative Assistant for Inova Health Systems. As her children became independent adults, she became not just a loving mother but a trusted friend and confident.
She grew up a tomboy at heart, enjoying the great outdoors and riding her beloved horses on the Colorado Rocky Mountain trails. She was a lifelong patron and participant in community theatre where she did set design, costume, dance, acting and directing. She enjoyed needlework, was an accomplished seamstress and loved traveling in retirement. She formed deep friendships and held a warm spot in her heart for all whom she met. Nothing gave her more pleasure than the time she spent with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
In lieu of a formal service, the family plans to hold a private memorial gathering immediately in Charlottesville, VA and return Goldie to her beloved mountains at a future date.
