Obituary of Anita Drapaki Henriques
Anita Drapaki Henriques, 68, of Falls Church, VA, passed away July 11, 2019, with her loving husband by her side. Anita was born to Ukrainian parents, the late Simion Drapaki and Maria Kolenczuk Kiryluk, in Curitiba, Brazil. Anita married Humberto Henriques in 1975 and they lived together in Brazil for ten years before moving to Rockville, MD. In 1991, the family moved to Falls Church, VA. Anita was a member of Maranatha Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, Ladies group leader and Praise group member. Anita graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Bennett Methodist Institute in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She also obtained an Associate degree in Travel and Tourism from NOVA in Annandale, VA. Anita had a passion for the Nation’s Capital and was a member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC, where she was a Certified Master Guide (CMG). As a CMG, Anita was able to share her love for the city and teach others about it. Anita was the glue to her family and her grandsons were her pride and joy. She was a dedicated grandmother who was always ready to take her grandsons on new adventures. Anita also loved to travel; her favorite places to visit were her hometown in Brazil to visit family, and Geneva, Switzerland, where she would often visit friends. Anita is survived by her husband, Humberto Henriques; her children, Renato “Mike” Henriques (Jennifer) of Vienna, VA and Daniel Henriques (Melissa) of Johns Creek, GA; and her grandchildren, Benjamin (10), Nathan (8) and Carson (1). The family will be hosting a lunch reception from 12:30 pm to 3 pm at Maggiano’s Tyson’s Corner in the Calabrese/Gabbiano Room, 2001 International Drive, McLean, VA 22102, 703-893-5810.
