Terry E. Oden

Terry E. Oden, 69 of Huntington passed away on Thursday morning, July 25, 2019, at his residence. Terry owned and operated Markle Furniture for 36 years. In his retirement he was sales coordinator at Pierceton Yogi Bear JellyStone Park Camp Resort. Terry was a 1969 graduate of Huntington High School and a 1974 graduate of Evangel College. He was a 35 year member of the Huntington Metro Kiwanis Club and currently served as President. Terry enjoyed volunteering at Love INC in the food pantry. He was a member of College Park United Brethren Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing games, resort camping and golf cart rides at Jellystone, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and entertaining family and friends. Terry loved the Lord and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Terry was born on July 12, 1950 in Huntington, a son of Harold and Wilma (Keplinger) Oden. He was united in marriage to Ann Burkholder on July 22, 1972 in Huntington. His wife survives. Additional survivors include a son: Nickolas (Jennifer) Oden of Markle; a daughter: Staci (Joshua) Hunt of Bluffton; a sister: Linda (Gary) Hutchison of Huntington. Six grandchildren – Alexandra Oden, Olivia Oden, Grace Oden, Abigail Hunt, Lukas Hunt, and Andrew Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the College Park United Brethren Church, 1945 College Ave., Huntington, IN. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made out to LOVE INC or Huntington Area Transportation (HAT) in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
