Anna K. Calloway

Anna K. Calloway, nee Kessler, AKA Grannie Annie,95 of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away at 9:05 am on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 21, 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Ivy J. Kessler and Pauline Kinser Kessler. On December 3, 1948, she married Claude “Red” Calloway who preceded her in death on August 20, 1994. Anna graduated from Shawnee High School. She had several careers in her younger days, but her happiest time was when she became a homemaker. Anna loved the country where she and Claude always had a garden and she enjoyed canning and cooking. She loved to cook for everyone but most of all she loved her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Tina Calloway Crow of Collyville, Texas; grandsons, Lennon Crow and Oliver Reed Crow; and one great-granddaughter, Lilly Crow. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Faye Kessler; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Georgia Bruederle, Christine Hasken, Betty Steffan and her brother, William Kessler. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky. A memorial gathering will be held in her honor at 1217 Sportsman Drive, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 2-5 pm.
