Cora Margurite Reed

Cora Margurite “Margy” Reed, 93, of Greencastle went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at her residence. Cora was born in Putnam County on October 31, 1925, the daughter of Peter and Effie (Taylor) Sutherlin, and attended Greencastle High School. Margy was the oldest living member of the Hanna Street Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed every minute with her family. Survivors include two Children, Rebecca Billingsley, (husband-Patrick), Greencastle, and Mark Timothy Reed, (wife-Vickie), Greencastle; a daughter-in-law, Carol Reed, Plainfield; six grandchildren Jennifer Hopkins, (husband-Sean), Orlando, Florida, Michael David Clark, Greencastle, Mark Christopher Reed, (wife-Kimberly), Brazil, Stephanie Hayes, (husband-Frank), Carbon, Ashley Hatton, (husband-Greg), Jasonville, and Jeffrey Howard Reed, Greencastle; eight great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, George L. Reed; a son, George Peter Reed; and eleven siblings. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2019 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastors Terry Herbert and Patrick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Boone-Hutchison Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019, and one hour prior to time of service on Friday. Memories may be shared with the family at www.BittlesandHurt.com.
