Margie L. Curts, 95 years of age passed away on August 30, 2019 in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on August 27, 1924 in Lanesville, Indiana to the late Leonard and Viola Lemmel. Margie worked at the old Fashion Shop in New Albany and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending the winters in Florida, was a devoted mother and grandmother, and looked forward to spending time with her granddogs, Tanner, Tyler, and Gizmo. Along with her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clifford Curts; sisters, Virginia Lemmel, Doris Tyler (Bob); and brother, Russell Lemmel.
Survivors include her children, Larry Curts (Roxann), Linda Asher (Phil); grandchildren, Todd Curts, Timothy Whitham (Jayna), Thomas Whitham (Melanie), Travis Whitham (Rebecca); great grandchildren, Michael Curts and Alyssa Faith, Christopher and Devyn Whitham, Connor and Callie Whitham, Hunter, Hadley, Henley, Hayes, and Holden Whitham; great great grandson, Michael “Trey” Faith, III; sister-in-law, Joann Lemmel; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
The family requests expressions of sympathy to Centenary United Methodist Church (Christ’s Kitchen), Southern Indiana Animal Rescue, or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
