Darryl C. "Nick" Nicholson

Darryl C. “Nick” Nicholson passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at the age of 84. Nick is survived by Eileen Connelly Nicholson of Yeadon, Pennsylvania, his loving wife of 54 years; four children, Rose Ann Behson and her husband Paul, Mary Ann Jones and her husband Kenny, Thomas Nicholson, and Douglas Nicholson and his wife Sherrie; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A native of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, Nick is a celebrated Navy veteran, achieving the rank of Master Chief with 30 years of service. Spending most of his military career in Norfolk, Nick selflessly served much of his military career at sea so his family could avoid moving every few years. Following his decorated military career, Nick worked at Newport News Shipbuilding for 15 years before retiring in 1997. In his free time, Nick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his friends and children. He stayed active making clocks in his woodworking shop. He had many good friends both in the military and his neighborhood and will be missed by all. Inurnment will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, September 20, 2019, in A. G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
