Caroline Valentine
72, a longtime resident of Carmel, Indiana, departed this life Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was born April 21, 1947 in Washington DC to the late Philip Redmond and Caroline Ford Bridendall, Jr.
Caroline earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN and her graduate degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX.
Caroline was a kind and gentle soul who was happiest tending to her garden, supporting the Carmel Swim Club, and making memories with her loving family. She was a proud mother and grandmother and dedicated guardian to her favorite dog, “Georgia Rose”.
Caroline is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Charlie Valentine; her loving children, Caroline and Craig Sampsell, Dallas, TX; and Phil and Nancy Valentine, Charlotte, NC; her dedicated siblings, John and Toby Bridendall, Atlanta, GA; Bill and Pat Bridendall, Blacksburg, VA; Beth and David Campbell, Cleveland, TN; and Sarah Bridendall, Carmel, IN; eight nieces and nephews and her dear granddaughters, Charlotte Sampsell and Adelaide Valentine.
Visitation for Caroline will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, September 26th at Leppert Mortuary – Smith Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032 and conclude at time of services at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions in Caroline’s name can be made to: Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County - 3135 N Meridian St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208.
