Obituary of Helen Louise Hart
Helen Louise Gore Hart, 94, passed from this life on September 25, 2019. Helen was born in Madison County, October 1, 1924 to Albert and Neda Gore. She was the fourth of their thirteen children. She married Harold F. Hart, and together they had seven children. Helen and Harold left Culpeper to raise their growing family in Barboursville and Ruckersville. Helen worked many years at Sperry Rand, but her favorite job where she built her career was working for General Electric in Charlottesville. Upon retiring, she moved back to Culpeper to be closer to her family. Helen was an avid gardener, canner, and cook. Nothing gave her greater happiness than preparing a meal for her family. One did not leave her home hungry. She loved her cats, especially Babe. She was also a life-long member of Bethel Baptist Church. She leaves six children: Harold F. Hart, Jr. and wife, Genny; Lucinda Ann (Cindy) Hart Littlefield; Larry Wayne Hart and wife, Glenda; Linda Fay Hart Hord; Harlan Lee Hart and wife, Laura; Elaine Susan Wecker and husband, David; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves brothers and sisters; Otis Gore and wife, Ella; Arline Rupert; Milton Gore and wife, Betty Lou; Ray Gore and wife, Margaret; Winfrey Gore and wife, Edith; Christine Corbin; Linda Gore Bazzle; many nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Emma Hart Mustain. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Hart; their first-born child, Neda Louise; her parents, Albert and Neda Gore; and brothers and sisters: Garland Gore; Carlton (Mickey) Gore; Silva Gore Norris; Lois Gore Jenkins; Dorothy Gore Jenkins; Eunice Gore Jenkins; and her son-in-law, Larry Littlefield. The family is appreciative to the Harbor House Memory Care Facility in Stanardsville and Medi Hospice of Charlottesville, and is further grateful to Bethany Carver whose care allowed Helen to remain in her home beyond what she otherwise could have. The family will receive friends at Bethel Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on October 1, 2019 with a celebration of life to immediately follow and internment at the National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Helen’s memory be given to the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation: www.arpf.donorshops.com Fond memories and condolences may be shared with the Hart family through clore-english.com.
