Louise Desjardins

Louise M. Desjardins, 91, entered into eternal rest on September 27, 2019. Louise was born in Moravia, New York on February 6, 1928, the daughter of Earl and Eunice McCann. Louise married her husband Eddie on April 27, 1946 and they raised three children, Daniel, Barbara, and Toni. Throughout her life, Louise knew no stranger. She loved to talk and could strike up a friendly conversation with anyone. She had a kind word for everyone no matter where she went. She also loved to read and it was very common to find her reading a book or the day’s newspaper. Louise also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her son Daniel F. Desjardins on December 29, 2007, and her husband Eddie on March 8, 2008. She is survived by her sister Ginny, her loving daughters Barbara Kirkland and Toni Thomas, along with her husband Steve. There were many grandchildren and great grandchildren including Daniel F. Desjardins, Jr. and his wife Shellene along with sons David-Joseph and Devin; Joseph Duke III and his wife Christina along with son Ryan: Chris Kirkland; and Thomas Martin and his wife Elise. A funeral service to celebrate Louise’s life will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, 2019 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 East Virginia Beach Blvd., at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral on Thursday October 3rd, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association online or the American Cancer Society.
