Obituary of Louis Gray
LOUIS was born to Willie and Augusta (White) Gray on February 15, 1925 in Jackson Tennessee. The family moved to Indianapolis and remained in the city. LOUIS joined the U.S. Navy on April 26, 1944 and served until June 10, 1946. After the military he went to work for High Grade Meat Packing Company until his employment with the Chrysler Corporation, Shadeland Plant, Indianapolis where he served on the facility maintenance team for thirty-eight years. He remained an active member of the United Auto Workers Union until his death. LOUIS married Juanita Wright and through that bond raised ten children. Not always an easy task but, through love, discipline and perseverance instilled in them to have respect for themselves and others. LOUIS was an avid fisherman who loved the hobby and shared his love of the sport with his wife Juanita, other family members and friends. Known to be a primary member of the "Wrecking Crew Group" at the Southport Lake. His other hobbies included hunting, landscaping and spending time with his friends and family preferable in his backyard. His family was the center of his life. He was at peace when sitting on his patio watching the grand, great grand and great great grandchildren play and scurry from yard to yard. LOUIS went to be with the Lord at the age of ninety-four years and seven months. He was proceeded in death by his parents Willie and Augusta Gray, his wife Juanita Gray, daughter Billie Gray, sons Jerry Gray and Robert "Peter" Gray, two grandsons Larry "Pooh" Jr and Damon Gray, sisters Geneva Gray, Bertha Beasley, Augusta "Pete" Rush and brother Clyde Gray. LOUIS is survived by his daughters Christine Wright, Barbara Webber, Diane (Edward) Freeman, Gwendolyn Jones, Tanya Gray (Eric) Harrington, sons Louis Jr (Toni) Gray, Larry Gray Sr, brother John "Yank" (Mary Sue) Gray and sisters Anita White and Jesse "Ruth" Brown. He is also survived by granddaughters Tatia Webber, Kristi Webber, Shantel Baldwin, Nakia (Davictor) Lee , Courtney (Darrell) Dotson, Bethany Gray, Elizabeth Gray and Ketra Gray. Grandsons Edward (Karrin) Freeman, Michael (Janelle) Freeman, Cory (Nicole) Crenshaw, Jerry (Kassie) Gray Jr, Robert Gray Jr and Terrance Banks Jr a host of great grands, great great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
