Obituary of Mary Grace Borgmann
Mary Grace Borgmann Mary Grace Borgmann died peacefully at St. Vincent Hospice Center in Indianapolis, on October 12, 2019. When asked what she would like to include in her obituary, Mary Grace, an excellent writer, said just say “she was born, lived, laughed, loved and died.” Mary Grace began living on May 16, 1938, as the first child born to H. Philip and Grace (Jimmy) Delaney Overbeck on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mary Grace attended Seton High School, during which time she began dating her future husband, James E. Borgmann, to whom she was married for 60 years. She attended Our Lady of Cincinnati College to become a teacher, and she began teaching at St. Antoninus Elementary School. Mary Grace is survived by her husband, Jim, and their six children and their spouses: Linda and Pat Coyne, Jenny and Matt Morris, Jim and Julie Borgmann, Mary Ann and Randy Smith, Tom and Debbie Borgmann, and Jill and Chris Ball, and her fourteen grandchildren Emma Morris, Abby Morris, Michael Borgmann, Katie Caskey, Samantha Borgmann, Georgia Smith, Ella Smith, Haden Ball, Olivia Ball, Nolan Ball, Peyton Ball, Kelly Borgmann, Madison Borgmann and Reed Borgmann; four siblings: Sue Kolkmeier, Philip (Butch) Overbeck, George Overbeck and Sara Wipperman, and numerous cousins. Mary Grace loved helping and teaching children. She instilled a love for reading and writing in her children and grandchildren, and even in her late seventies was still chasing grandkids around playing kids’ games. She always said her greatest contribution to the world was her family, all of whom will miss her. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff and sisters at St. Augustine Home in Indianapolis for their friendship and extraordinary care, and we suggest that any donations in memory of mom be directed to St. Augustine Home at 2345 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Funeral services will be held at St. Antoninus Church, 1500 Linneman Road, Cincinnati, OH, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019, with visitation beginning at 9:30.
