Obituary of Earlen Berl Weis

Earlen B. Weis, 77, of Gloucester, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 17, 2019. He was a graduate of Mount Hope High School, West Virginia. He was President and founder of Accessible Environments, Inc. (an internet business). He was in the Navy and served on a submarine in San Diego, California. He received his airplane pilot multiengine rating in San Diego, California. He then received his air frame and power plant mechanics from Spartan School of Aeronautics, Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of his hobbies was carving and he carved many birds, ducks, and fish. He loved to travel and visited light houses on the East and West coast. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Elliott Weis; son, Brett Weis (Robin); daughter, Brigette Weis Elliott (John); grandchildren: Tiffany (Jed) Gonzola, Meagan (Brent) Howell, and Ashley (Alan) Street, Nathan (Megan) Weis; great grandchildren: Sam, Ellie and Caroline Gonzola, McKenna and Miles Howell, and Hannah Weis; brother, Russell Weis (Linda); sisters, Alice Sutphin, and Anna Evans (Tom); and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Madge Evans and father, Gentzel Weis and step fathers, Omer Walker and Hubert Evans; grandmother, Martha Willis and his precious Aunt Josie; his step brothers, Bob and Jim Evans; and brother-in-law, Dan Sutphin. A memorial service will be held at the Coastal Community Church, 6406 George Washington Memorial Highway, Gloucester, Virginia on November 2 at 11:00am, with his grandson, Nathan Weis officiating. A second memorial service will be held November 9, 11:00am at his mother’s church, the Church of God of Prophecy, 1 Patrick Street, Oak Hill, West Virginia, with the Reverend Debbie Minor officiating. A reception will be held after both services to greet the family. Earlen loved his Hospice Nurse, Patty Fischer. She was so wonderful and he looked forward to her visit every week for the past year.
