Diana R Thomas

Diana R. Thomas, 73, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born August 6, 1946 in Terre Haute, the daughter of Walter and Ernestine (Cornett) Ross. Diana was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School “Class of 1964” and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education from Indiana State University in 1968. Diana was the Victims Assistance Director at the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office for several years. She had also served as a substitute teacher and classroom aide. She is survived by her husband, Darrel Thomas; daughters, Lisa (Mike) Chadd and Kara (Matt) Hazlett; a sister, Sue (Jack) Boehmer; three grandchildren, Kayla & Rachel Chadd and Josie Hazlett; a sister-in-law, Mary Whallon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ronald Whallon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the First Baptist Church 404 Judson Drive Greencastle, IN. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
