Becky Lynn Wood

On Thursday November 7, 2019, Becky Lynn Wood, age 61, died suddenly at her home in Columbus Indiana. Becky was raised in Edinburgh, IN and began working full time for Edinburgh City Utilities at age 15. She worked at various group homes for the disabled including DSI in Columbus, IN, Loveland Center in Venice, FL, and John McLain Foundation in Tampa, FL. She was truly gifted as an advocate for the disabled. She also served at the Bartholomew County Youth Services Center in shelter and detention where she was affectionately known as Miss Wood, and Bartholomew County Human Services working with the homeless population where she was known as Miss Becky. Becky leaves behind her friend and husband of 29 years, Don Wood of Columbus IN; sister Doris Ford of Deputy IN; brothers Tom Greene of Columbus IN, and Jack Greene of Edinburgh, IN. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who she loved and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Greene; mother, Sarah Greene; sister, Sandy Greene; and brother, Bobby Greene. Becky was known for her infectious smile and laugh and her kind and compassionate spirit. She loved gardening, playing the harmonica and making people laugh. She is and will be greatly missed.
