James M Pelham

James Milton Pelham, born March 1st, 1929 in Arlington, VA. He was one of 11 children born to the late Inez C. Pelham and Douglas Pelham, who were instrumental in his life. He was raised in Arlington, VA, and attended Arlington County Public Schools. James, also known as “Doug”, worked for Arlington County, as a Crane Operator, from August 1944 to March 1978. James met and married Frances Bell on July 31st, 1953. They lived in Arlington, VA until Frances’ death on October 4th, 1986. From this union they had 2 daughters, Donna Marie and Paula Arleen. James met and married Lucy Hendricks on November 1st, 1991. They lived in Arlington VA until his death, November 22nd, 2019. James is survived by his wife of 28 yrs., Lucy H. Pelham. His two daughters, Donna and Paula (Tuan Nguyen); two sisters, Betty Jean Murray and Eileen Marie Ledbetter, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with a large host of relatives and friends. James was a very good man, always honest and helpful. A pillar of his Community. He made an impact to everyone’s life, in the neighborhood. He was the Patriarch for the Pelham family until his death. James will be sorely missed.
