Obituary of Danny "Fatboy" Alan Fowler
Danny "Fatboy" Alan Fowler, 70, passed away on the morning of December 1, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Kokomo on January 26, 1949 to Marjorie and Paul fowler. He was preceded in death by his father in 1992. From 1958 through 1964 Danny was a 5-time national champion roller skater and 3-time national runner up participating in pairs and singles competition. He served in the army from 1968 until 1974. He was employed at Delco Electronics until he retired in 2003 after 30 years. He was an avid Cubs, Indiana basketball, and Notre Dame football fan. He truly despised Purdue and the Kentucky Wildcats. He is survived by his wife of 35 years and love of his life, Dorothy Meredith, his mother (Margie), brother (Todd Fowler), and sister in-law (Ronda Fowler) all from Kokomo. He is also survived by his son and daughter in-law, Brant and Julie Fowler, of Guston, Ky. His daughter and son in-law, Karyn and Raymond "Chip” Johnson, of Kokomo. He was the proud papaw of four grandchildren (Corgan, Emilee, Brodee, and Kaiden). He is also survived by his nephew, Benji Fowler, of Kokomo. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 6, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Jeff Sexton will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at Albright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM tp 7:00 PM Thursday at the mortuary. If you are coming to the party you may wear whatever you want. Danny did not like suits.
