Stephen Eberhard Petersen

Beloved father, grandfather, brother, and son passed away on December 15, 2019, in Fairfax, VA. He is survived by his mother, Ingse Petersen, daughters Michele Petersen and Julia Petersen Zlatanovic, grandchildren Abigail, Eleanor, Helena, Sophia, and Alexander, former spouse Shawneen Petersen, and by his brother Thomas Petersen. Stephen was a talented carpenter who could build or fix just about anything. He built big things, like his family home, and small things, like his daughters' last minute school projects. He was proud of his Danish heritage, and passed on many traditions to his daughters, including a love of long Sunday lunches with open faced sandwiches and rice pudding at Christmas. He loved the simple things in life: grilling outdoors, watching football, discussing politics, going to the beach, and, above all, spending time with his family and friends. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad St., in Falls Church from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m
