Johnie Edward Poling, Sr.

Johnny “Johnie” Edward Poling, Sr., age 62, died December 18, 2019 at his home in Shenandoah, VA. He had been ill for quite some time.
He passed away in the loving care of his family and Sentara Hospice since mid-October.
Johnie was born December 21, 1956 to the late Ervin James and Olga Mae (Norman) Poling, and was the youngest of 11 children. He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife, D. Lynn Poling of Shenandoah; a son, Johnny Edward Poling, Jr.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Poling and grandson, Tyler Poling of WV; a daughter, Jennifer Ann Golden and granddaughter, Kristina Anderson of NC; and a grandson, James Anderson of FL; a daughter, Julie Bailey and husband, Tommie and grandson, Dakota Bailey of VA; a son, Brandon Neyens also of Shenandoah; step-children from over the years, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all were thought of often and loved.
He is also survived by three sisters, Leona Weaver and husband, Larry, Margie Johnson and husband, Don, Lucy Pearl Robinson, and their families, all of West Virginia.
Johnie worked as a truck driver in land reclamation for many years and Harford Duracool of MD. He loved his family, friends and God.
Instead of formal services, family and friends are asked to remember him in their own way, pictures and memories are most treasured now. He will be cremated by Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah and his ashes kept, to be spread at a later time.
