Clayton “Jim” Swallow, 94, of Evansville, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2020 after living a full and meaningful life. Clayton was born in Evansville on December 9, 1925, to the late John and Tula Swallow.
Clayton was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran. His primary employment was with Sun Oil Co and Bucyrus Erie.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rose Marie (Coultas) Swallow; son, Donald Swallow (Donna L.); and daughter, Donna J. Berninger (Brian). Clayton is the proud grandpa of Joseph Swallow, Nancy Minor (Chad), Michael Swallow, Trisha Wiley (Todd), Dawn Strauch (Mark), and Alex Franz. He also has 8 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 9 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Clayton will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Pastor Cliff Herring. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
