Nikki Lynn Perry

Nikki Lynn Perry (Hamilton) was born to Marvin and Gene Hamilton on July 28, 1951. Nikki attended Arsenal Technical High School and was a member of their marching band. She met her husband Stephen Allen Perry at a youth group function and fell in love at first sight. They were married on January 22, 1972. Two years later, Michele was born. Two years after welcoming Michele, her brother Mark was born. Nikki started her career working at Eli Lilly, but returned home soon after to be with the kids. She loved being a caregiver so much that she found a second career working for Pilgrim Lutheran Preschool. She deeply enjoyed her time spent working with the teachers and the children at the school. Nikki was also very much a “dog person”, and with help from her family she cared for a long progression of rescue dogs. The first dog she rescued was named Trixie. Over the years she went on to adopt Sugar, Gracie, Sampson, Raja, Roundtop, Molly, and Sandy. Nothing made here happier than when she could share her home & affection with a dog. Over the past few years, Nikki endured a long battle with her kidney health and diabetes. She put up a brave fight, but in the end the complications were too much for her to overcome and she passed away on February 4th, 2020. It was her wish to be cremated, and the family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, February 22nd from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm at Leppert Mortuaries – Carmel, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032.
