Elaine Boyd Clark

Mrs. Elaine Boyd Clark, age 88, of Martinsville, VA, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Martinsville Hospital. She was born in Henry County on June 10, 1931 to Francis R. Boyd and Lucy J. Boyd. Elaine was a devoted wife and worked by her husband’s side. She was a member of Collinsville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leon D. Clark; son Danny Leon Clark; daughter, Joan Akers Morrison; sister, Inez Spencer and brother, Larry Boyd. Elaine is survived by two daughters, Gail Blue (Bruce Blue) of Carthage, NC, and Sherry C. Purdy of Martinsville, VA; son in law, Harold Morrison; two brothers, Ronnie Boyd, and Curtis Boyd; three grandchildren, Donny Thompson, Daniel Akers and Dana Ayers; seven great grandchildren, Christina, Ryan, Autumn, Amber, Zoey, Lee, Alex and two great-great grandchildren, Peyton and Skyler. A service will be held at Collinsville Baptist Church, 6070 Daniels Creek Road, Collinsville, VA, on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Pastor, Tracy Freeman officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery, 3241 Stones Dairy Road, Bassett, VA.
