Joyce Marie Harwell

Joyce Marie Harwell, 84, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Good Samarian Home. She was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1935 in Nashville, Tennessee to Harwell and Sarah (Holley) Jones. She was a cook for St. Mary’s Hospital, the State Hospital, the University of Evansville, and Fairlawn Elementary School. Joyce enjoyed cooking, reading, and taking care of her dog JJ. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter A. Harwell; and son, Edward Lee Harwell. She is survived by her sons, Michael Harwell, James Harwell (Sue), William Harwell, and Robert Harwell (Brandy); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel with Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
