Marcellus R Calhoun Sr.

Marcellus Ray Calhoun,Sr., 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital due to complications of COVID 19. Marcellus was born on November 13, 1934 in Henderson County to the late Rev. George and Catherine (Gregory) Calhoun.
Marcellus retired from Sears after over 30 years of service as a mechanic. He attended Memorial Baptist Church. Marcellus was an avid walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Hatchett) Calhoun; and two brothers, Clarence and Donald; and a sister, Mary Frierson.
Marcellus is survived by his son, Marcellus, Jr; two daughters, Teresa Calhoun and Kyrin Dillard; several grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Calhoun, Sr. and Douglas Calhoun; four sisters, Pauline Green, Shirley Dixon, Annabelle Woodson, and Carolyn Cooper; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Alexander Memorial Park with the Rev. Adrian Brooks officiating. Marcellus’s service will be livestreamed on Facebook, please visit the following link: https://www.facebook.com/funeralstreamusa.
