Thomas Joseph Kavanaugh

Thomas Joseph Kavanaugh, age 80, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 in the home he built 57 years ago. Tom was born on October 21, 1939 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Vincent and Alma Kavanaugh. He graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1957. He married Sharon Nichter and they spent 60 years together. Tom was a Brick Mason for 50 years before retiring from Batts Construction. He received many rewards for his craftmanship during his career. He worked on Market Square Arena, Hoosier Dome and The Children's Museum. His hobbies included wood working and making unique pieces of furniture for his loved ones. Tom is survived by his children, Mark Kavanaugh, Jeffrey Kavanaugh, Laurie Guess and Kellie Bauman; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and his sibling, Sister Timothy Kavanaugh. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kavanaugh; parents, Vincent and Alma Kavanaugh; and 5 siblings. A visitation for Tom will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. A mass of christian burial will occur Monday, July 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N 17th Ave, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church.
