Obituary of Lois M. Hudson
Lois Marie Hudson, 68, of Charlottesville, VA passed peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven on July 24, 2020. Lois was born on February 4th, 1952, the youngest daughter of the late William Lorraine Hudson Sr. and Helen Marie (Bosley) Lynch. She graduated Potomac Senior High School, Oxon Hill, Maryland in June 1970. She lived in Germany briefly, Washington, DC. for a few years, then moved to her home in Dale City, Virginia. She raised her daughters there and provided them with a strong Christian foundation, as members of Heritage Baptist Church in Woodbridge, Virginia. In 1985, while raising her daughters as a single mother, Lois went to work full-time at the Washington D. C. Navy Yard. Lois went to school in the evenings in order to complete her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Management. Lois was an active member of Christ Chapel Church and then Grace Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA. There she taught classes on topics she was passionate about such as witnessing to cults. Lois served through Prison Fellowship Ministries. Lois began her own photography business, focusing on portraiture. After retiring, Lois moved to Charlottesville, VA to live with one of her daughters and family. Lois was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Ann “Peggy” Noris and her mother and father. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, William Lorraine Hudson, Jr. and Deeann J. Hudson; her niece and nephew-in-law, Leslie “Shelly” Detweiller and Johann Detweiller. She is also survived by her daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren: Helen Nicole "Nicki" Myers Mitchell and Steven Lloyd Mitchell; Grayson Timothy Myers of Spotsylvania, VA, Kirsten Alexandra Mitchell and Callie Lynne Mitchell of Blacksburg, VA, and Cassie LiAn Mitchell of Fredericksburg, VA. Jessica Heather Auville and Jeremy Lee Auville; and Jaden Hadley Auville, Jacoby Riley Auville, and Jason Lucas Auville of Charlottesville, VA. Always making the best of her situation, Lois stayed positive and never lost her “funny bone” even during times of illness. While her family and friends miss her, they rejoice in her Homecoming and never will forget her support and sense of humor.
