Richard W. “Rick” “Peanut” Skiver, age 72, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 surrounded by family and significant other, Brenda Turner. Richard was born July 17, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late Geneva "Chris" (Thurman) Roosa and Edward Skiver. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Glen Skiver and Homer "Smitty" Smith. He was a lifelong Indianapolis southsider and attended Manual High School. Rick enlisted in the Army in 1966 at age 17 and served in Vietnam from March 1967 - March 1968 during the Tet Offensive. After completing his four years of active duty, he remained with the military as a civilian employee, working over 20 years at Fort Harrison.
Richard is survived by his sister, Sandra "Dusty" Twigg; brothers, Kenneth "Boo" Roosa and Harold "Buzz" Roosa; daughter, Angel Skiver; and four grandsons.
Visitation for Richard will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. His Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
