Lillian J. Parker, born on July 2, 1936 in Montclair, NJ, passed away on July 31, 2020 in Alexandria, VA. She was 84 years old. Lillian was the only child of Anthony and Natalie Baranowski of Montclair, NJ. Lillian was raised in Bloomfield, NJ and attended the Washington School for Secretaries in Newark, NJ. She was a Debutante for The First Annual Debutante Ball of Council 15, of the Polish Women’s Alliance of America, January 20, 1956, escorted by John J. Pezynski-Parker, of Bloomfield, NJ, whom she later married on September 14, 1957. They moved to the Washington, DC area for their careers. Lillian worked as the Supervisor for Personnel at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC for 24 years. They settled in Maryland in the early 1970’s to raise their 5 children. Lillian and John were together in marriage for 50 years until his passing in 2007. She loved the beach and spent many family vacations at the sea shores of Wildwood, NJ, Ocean City, MD and the beaches of North and South Carolina. Lillian was a devout catholic and spent many hours attending mass and belonged to her local Parish’s Rosary Prayer Group. She loved shopping and always made time for conversation with everyone. A beloved wife and mother, she will truly be missed. She is survived by all 5 children – Barbara Birgfeld and her husband Steve of Sacramento, CA; Ellen Sampson of Woodbridge, VA; Lori Mattingly and her husband James of Lowell, MI; John Parker and his wife Tia of Dumfries, VA; Vicki Briden and her husband David of Springfield, VA. She is survived by 9 grandchildren – Matthew Fields (and Bailey) of Santa FE, NM; Jackie Lemke and her husband Nick of Rockford, MI; Justin Mattingly and his wife Meghan of Wyoming, MI; Alec Parker of Dumfries, VA; Ashley Sampson (and Artiom) of Woodbridge, VA; Douglas Sampson (and Christy) of Fredericksburg, VA; Robert Briden (and Mariae) of Springfield, VA; Faith Briden and Spencer Briden of Springfield, VA. She is survived by 4 great-grandchildren – A’myah Taylor and Mila Rasmussen; Musetta Mattingly; Hadley Jo Lemke with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way! Lillian is also survived by numerous cousins from NJ and family spread out across the United States. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Lillian Parker’s name.
