Obituary of Roy Cubbage
Roy Edward Cubbage, Sr.,77, of Waynesboro passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Charlottesville. He was born in Rockingham County on July 29, 1943, a son of the late Mannie Emanual and Nettie Pearl (Lam) Cubbage. Roy proudly served in the United States Navy. In 1971, he married Frankie Ann Fulcher and they were married 48 years. Roy worked as a truck driver for many years. He greatly enjoyed watching and cheering on his son and grandson race. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Ann (Fulcher) Cubbage and one sister, Sylvia Clark. Survivors include his sons, R. E. Cubbage Jr. (Amy) and Ritchie Cubbage (John); grandchildren, Cody and Cassidy Cubbage, Cameron (Lindsey) and Kendall Eavey; great grandchild, Luke Eavey; as well as extended family and friends. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to please meet at the cemetery, wear a facial mask, and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. Those wishing to attend are asked to please wear a facial mask and practice social distancing.
