OBITUARY
Pearlie Mae Thomas
April 30, 1935 – September 13, 2020
Pearlie Mae Thomas, age 85, of Bloomington passed away, Sunday, Sept. 13 at her residence. Born April 30, 1935 in Joiner, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Julius and Essie Mae (Spain) Clanton. Pearlie was a professional cook and prior to retirement worked at the Richland-Bean Blossom Health Care Center. Pearlie loved cooking in her free time as well and spending time with her family and church family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church.
Pearlie is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Porter and Aleana Jones, both of Bloomington and Glenda Hardin, of Gary, one son, Willie Porter, of Bloomington; two sisters, Maggie (Jerry) Turley, of Chicago, Illinois and Johnnie Shaw, of Plano, Illinois and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Porter, father, Julius Clanton, her mother, Essie Mae (Spain) Clanton Garner, one sister, Earlene Clanton, two brothers, William Paul Neal and Leroy McGhee, two grandsons, Tracie Malone and Leon Malone and one great-grandson, Matthew Allen.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 12 Noon at the Lighthouse Community Church with Pastor Derek L. House officiating. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospice.
