Charles Richard “Butch” Kamer, 77 years of age, formerly of Fredericksburg, IN passed on October 2, 2020 in New Albany, IN. He was born May 3, 1943 in New Albany to the late Edwin and Thelma (Dyer) Kamer. Butch retired from International Harvester. He enjoyed building hot rods, he was a member of the Kentucky Hot Rod Hall of Fame, and had an amazing talent to sculpt metal and wood and a gifted fabricator in all mediums. Many of his extraordinary sculptures were on display at the New Albany Floyd County Library.
Survivors include his sisters, Janet Onorato, Jacqueline Kruer (Pat), and Karen Forester (Mike), brother, Glen Kamer, many nieces and nephews, and his special great-great niece, Hayden Botkins.
Memorial visitation will take place Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and after 9:00 am Friday. His celebration of life will be held in the Kraft Funeral Chapel 11:00 am Friday, October 23, 2020 with burial of ashes to follow at St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery in Sellersburg.
