Kenneth Lee Ames

Kenneth Lee Ames, 85, of Fillmore, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020.
Born in Clay County, Indiana, he was the son of John and Lucille (Aker) Ames and was a graduate of Fillmore High School.
Kenny was a lifelong farmer. He was awarded the Prairie Farmer “Master Farmer Award” in 2002; served on the Putnam County Fair Board as a member and past president; a past supervisor of Putnam County Soil and Water District; and a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church.
Kenny is survived by his sons, Kerry (Corliss) Ames, Kim (Gina) Ames, and Kent (Karen) Ames; a daughter, Lisa (Jerry) Long; sister, Carolyn Parker; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Melissa) Ames, Kole (Brandy) Ames, Hannah (Garrett) Brooks, Ashley Ames, Michael (Lori) McCammack, Gabrielle McCammack, and Luke Ames; 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marleen Kay (Tharp) Ames, parents; and grandson, Ethan C. Ames.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Fillmore Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Bryan Palmer-Smith. Interment to follow. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
