Dennis Dean Liffick

Dennis D. Liffick, 76, of Heritage Lake passed away October 31, 2020, after a long battle with cancer.
Dennis was born September 30, 1944 in Terre Haute the son of Floyd and Ernestine (Cummings) Liffick; graduated from Gerstmeyer High School; served four years in United States Air Force, serving one year in Vietnam; retired from Greencastle Community Schools as a Director of Extended Services after 24 years. After Retirement he worked for Walmart Distribution Center in maintenance, and Plainfield Correctional Facility as an Electrical Foreman. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandkids.
He helped many military veterans get their VA Benefits and by taking them to their Doctor appointments. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wilma; his son, Joseph (wife-Ginger), a daughter, Lurissa King, (husband-Chip), and five grandchildren, Coal Everson, Autumn Everson, Brook Everson, Tinley Liffick, and Zane Liffick; a great grandchild, Emma Strong; two brothers, Lee Dillion, and Bob Dillion, (wife-Judy), Terre Haute; and five sisters, Darlene Pilkington, (husband-Bob), Mayflower, Arkansas, Patty Stroup, Fairmount, Faye Kuppler, Marshall, Illinois, Penny Tracy, (husband-Larry), Crawfordsville, and Pam Goldsberry, (husband-Phil), Scottsdale, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clyde Liffick of Terre Haute.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. Cremation will take place at a later date.
