Obituary of Warren E. Hinton

Warren E. Hinton, 74, of Columbus, died Monday, November 9, 2020. Mr. Hinton was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during Vietnam. He was also a member of Walker Chapel and Bethel Baptist Church. Warren was an engineer at Cummins retiring after 45 years of employment. He also loved street rods, camping and horseback riding. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron E. and Alberta (Wilson) Hinton; and nephew, Mark Christopher Hinton. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn Sue Hinton; sons, Darren (D.D.) Hinton of Franklin, and Dirk Hinton of Columbus; grandchildren, Jake Hinton of Twentynine Palms, CA, Sam Hinton of Franklin, Kyle Stott of Columbus, and Adam Stott of Franklin; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Hinton of Terre Haute; and sisters, Patty Richards and Judy Coffman, both of Columbus. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with Pastor Roy Hendershot officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery with military honors provided by the Bartholomew County Combined Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In keeping with CDC and Indiana guidelines, social distancing must be followed and masks are required.
