Obituary of Margaret Broger
Margaret Theresa (Bono) Broger, 90, of Woodbridge, VA, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 4, 2020. She was a resident of Woodbridge and a member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church for 57 years. At Our Lady of Angels, she was active with the Knights of Columbus Council 5750 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the St Paul United Methodist Church Fun Bunch, and participated in numerous volunteer activities throughout her life where she made life-long friends. Born in Springfield, NJ, in 1930, Margaret was the ninth child of Phillip and Margaret Bono; and a graduate of Jonathon Dayton HS in 1948, where she was a member of the business school. Preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband John F. Broger, daughter Sharon Hash, and granddaughter Sydney Horowitz-Broger . She is survived by her 5 children, John II (Laurie), Margie Rahm (Jack), Tim, Billy (Luanne), and Becki Rinker (Mike); 13 grandchildren, Destini, Rachael, Gina, Amber, Colleen, Demi, Taylor, Jacquelyn, Chuck, Michael, Samantha, Nick, and Lauren; and 8 great-grandchildren Elijah, Terrance, Jordan, Karlie, James, Reed, Wade, and Styles. Margaret was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and loved cardinals. She enjoyed traveling and the associated adventures as an Air Force wife and with friends, but she always said there was no place like home. Margaret was a devoted wife and homemaker and raised her children with love and devotion. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret loved to cook, bake, and family trips to Myrtle Beach, but mostly she loved just hanging out and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as being committed to her family. She will be missed dearly, but she will be celebrated daily as her loving spirit and heart lives on in the lives she touched. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, from 12-1 pm at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA, immediately followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass at 1 pm. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at https://www.jdrf.org/donate/
